    Greetings all-

Back in July, my colleagues (and fellow Exec. Board/Committee members) presented a session at Summer Institute titled: "A Transfer Perspective: Why Community College Collaboration is Important to You".

Seeing Julie Marlatt's post today for the Community College/Transfer Special Interest Group (SIG) on sessions at NACAC next week has encouraged me to submit a proposal for our Annual Conference in March 2018.

While I am bummed that I will miss many of you at NACAC in Boston, I am excited that Community Colleges/Transfer advocacy get some major stage presence at the national conference.  Many of the session topics are pertinent and relevant in showcasing the great need for collaboration and sharing best practices.  In this spirit, I want to work with my colleagues on modifying our SI presentation so that it may be relevant to a wider audience come March.

Our abstract for the SI session is as follows:

Did you know that community colleges are home to 45% of the collegiate population in the United States?  This session will highlight the importance of community colleges and regional campuses in the world of admissions.  Topics to be covered include diverse student demographics, transfer pathways and tips, and how you can work with your local community college representatives.  Session attendees will have the opportunity to participate in an interactive discussion covering scenarios that one might encounter as a 4-year admissions counselor or school counselor.

Please review and provide any comments or suggestions for adding to the presentation for a potential session at Annual Conference.  Thanks for your time!
