Use this topic to talk about upcoming college fairs - ask questions, connect with fellow travelers and be prepared to hit the road.

I am chairing a college fair for Cleveland Metropolitan School District students. Of the 43 schools to RSVP 2 are for-profit institutions. Both have a bad track record when it comes to student debt. Am I allowed to exclude these two institutions?

Thanks for any guidance you can provide.

    Hi Marjorie,

I am one of the chairs for the Columbus Suburban College Fair. We have a policy regarding for-profit schools. It is my understanding that as long as you have your rules/regulations listed in your fair bylaws that you certainly can limit or not invite for profit colleges. If they have already registered, I'd be hesitant to univite a school, but for the future setting a policy may be helpful. Feel free to reach out to me if you have any questions at 614-252-8341.

    Jeff
